The birth, development, final elevation and fall of Antichrist

In addition to that, the demand of clergy was, that the glory of the church should be so splendid as the glitter of the sun, whereas the kings dignity, the only as the glitter of the moon.

 

 

The use of false claims, intrigues and corruption brought soon that the desirable aim was reached. The transfer of the capital of the empire from Rome to Byzantium was the circumstance which greatly facilitated the task. In the result of that transfer the Rome has become uncovered on barbarians attacks. It was this circumstance which advanced the bishop of this city on the position of the protector and guard of it. Once, while invaders were approaching, the bishop of Rome has become famous when he restrained of the assailants with the strength of his spiritual authority only. The emperor Justinian highly appreciated such attitude. He issued the special edict (539) in which he set up the Roman bishop as the host of this city and appointed him the superior over all others bishops. It was the turning-point from which the civil authority and power of the papacy began to be exercised and which lasted for entire period of 1260 years. The number of dogmas which justified the earthly rule of the church was growing rapidly, the hierarchic structure of the church was set up ultimately. Owing to generous donations the extensive territory of the Ecclesiastical States came into being and the own army was appointed for the defence of them and for the external battle tasks. The papacy began its own politics more and more boldly to dictate to the secular rulers.

Year 800 brought for the papacy the special time of the triumph. It was the time of exaltation, when, the "Holy Roman Empire" was formed, and the pope, crowning Charlemagne emperor, was recognized as himself King of kings, Emperor of emperors, "another God, on earth."

 

 

The basis of such the union was the doctrine saying that in the such way came to being the second coming of Christ and his millennial reign over the world. It was claimed that it is in accord with Divine will that Christ would be represented on the earth by the papacy and that his power would be executed by earthly kings.

The book of the Revelation names the prostitution to such political marriage of alleged bride of the Christ and civil power (Rev. 17:1-5). The false imitation of Christ and future glory of true Kings and Priests came into being (Rev. 20:6). That is why the Scripture defines apostate Roman church with the names, "Antichrist" (1 John 2:18), "the Man of Sin" (2 Thess. 2:3), "the mystery of lawlessness" (2 Thess. 2:8), "the abomination of desolation" (Matt. 24:15), etc.

After the millennium of unusual triumphs this entire usurping theory and entire system being founded on it, they suffered the powerful blow. On 15 February, 1798, Berthier, the general of Napoleon Bonaparte entered the Rome and established the republic there. The pope as the prisoner was brought five days later to France, where he died after the year. In fact, the pope who succeeded in 1800, under the title Pius VII, "published an address in which he declared it to be the doctrine of the gospel that all should obey established governments," which of course included himself.

 

 

Popes' secular power was showed in Daniel prophecy in the figure of one of horns on head of the ten-horned Roman beast. This particular horn had eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth that spoke proud words (Dan. 7:8).

Such picture of the apostate Rome-Catholic church, as the biblical Antichrist, was presented in publications of the Bible Students movement, which came to being at USA at the dawning of the Christ second presence (1874). It was just several years earlier that the papal beast suffered the next blow which deepened "mortal wound" once inflicted to it by Reformation and Napoleon (Rev. 13:12). In September, 1870, Italian king, Viktor Emanuel II took over Rome and then the so-called "Papal States of Italy" were blotted out of the map. Came to pass the final rejection of the pope as ruler over Rome by the subjects of pope and by the King of Italy; Antichrist was left without the slightest temporal authority. The humiliated pope threw curses and excommunications for nothing. At last he issued the dogma about the infallibility of the pope and declared himself the prisoner in Vatican.

Saying the pictorial language of the Revelation, the beast has been thrust into the abyss. (Rev. 11:7). The abyss symbolizes practically absence of the Roman church in the political life. Secular rulers had enough of humiliations from this impertinent usurper and put aside mixed secular-religious form of rules; for the short time how it turned out.

The Students of Bible at USA and abroad they expected that the vision of seventeenth chapter of Revelation speaking about the beast coming out of the abyss would be fulfilled till 1914 (Rev. 17:8).

However, the author of Studies in the Scripture, T.Ch. Russell, the leader of the movement, to the very end alleged that there is no key to the secrets of this chapter (1916). He left only the hint how the vision of ten-horned beast can be to fulfilled. As the comment to verse, "The ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet, but receive power as kings one hour with the beast," pastor Russell said: 'This seems to set forth the Papal view respecting the various kings of Europe which at the present time have not received the official anointing by the Pope, and consequently have not as yet received their kingdom. If this is correct, it would then also mean that if the Pope should anoint these kings and declare them to be ruling by Divine right, they thereby would officially receive power as kings, and would rule with the Pope and together with the Pope would constitute the beast again in power." (“The Finished Mystery,” page 264, 1917).

When the half-century went by, it turned out that the scene of prophetic events had been transferred from the USA to the cradle of Antichrist that is Catholic Europe. On the European terrain, at Russia the communist revolution succeeded. The influence of revolutionary ideas began to spread to the western countries and to undermine unjust structures based on ignorance, superstition, violence and exploitation. This shook the belief of secular powers (in the nomenclature of the Book of Revelation symbolized by the dragon) that they would cope without the support of church in the face of anarchistic tendencies.

This that is why, already in year 1929, in Italy, it came to the reconciliation of the state with the papacy which ended its "state nonentity" also called the "Roman Question." A political treaty has recognized the full sovereignty of the so-called Holy See in the State of Vatican City, whereas a concordat has regulated relations between the Catholic Church and the Italian state.

Poland, ill-fated victim of servile exerting itself in the papacy behalf has reached the concordat agreement with Vatican even four years earlier (1925). It is essential to point the Poland out here because of this, that at this country, in this real relict of catholicity will come soon to pass the main events ending the existence of Antichrist forever.

In the 60's and 70's of the past century came to being at Poland the prophetic movement which proved to be the continuation of the Bible Student activity at the USA (1874-1916). In 1974 has been published the book, titled "Bible Chronology," which foretold, that in the year 1977 the John class will see various beasts which the book of Revelation is speaking about. It was not the known matter then yet, that Poland would be the very centre of prophetic events.

In the last quarter of the year 1977 all began to clarify. In October of this year took place the extraordinary celebrations of the sixtieth anniversary of the October Revolution. The leaders of the Moscow Kremlin delivered then characteristic appeals about the world peace.

 

 

In July of the same year 1977, the representatives of all churches arrived at Moscow to support the peace initiative of the Russian government. In December 1977, the leader of Poland, Eduard Gierek paid a courteous visit to pope Paul VI.

 

 

What there was hidden behind these events? It turned out, that the powers of the ten socialistic leaders of COMECOM (The Council for Mutual Economic Assistance) have become the most expressive (because of their ideological atheism and secular character) the final incarnation of the biblical dragon. The powers of socialism, pictured by the "great red dragon," (Rev. 12:3), were the propagator of the revolutionary ideas which undermined the order of the old world. However at present, the results of their anarchical activity terrified them in the even degree as the powers of others countries.

 

The vision of 13th and 14th chapter of Revelation portrays the ten-horned dragon as it was staying on the sea-shore and was handing the beast (also ten-horned) his power and rule, and great authority. What does it mean? The king Abaddon (destroyer of the old world – symbolic type of communistic power) and his army – destructive locust, once being very aggressive, today's they lost their impetus, stopped and started to back. In the result of the fear of impending anarchy, they also decided to restore on their territory of the symbolic sea (Isa. 57:20) the medieval connection between the throne and the altar. Papal beast went out and began to rule. Both the dragon and the beast are the different faces of the same system. When socialistic power spoke secular matters – it was dragon's speech. When the same powers were propagating state-church union – it was the voice of the beast.
 

 

 

There is certain difference in the showing of the state-church relations on ten-horned beast, which Daniel watched, and on the ten-horned beast which John saw. The Medieval Roman church is pictured as the horn on the beast head. The horn is the symbol of the power. The papacy wielded the such power as the others rulers. Today's Rome-Catholic church does not possess the secular power formally. Her superior authority over "the kings of the earth" was however showed in this, that she, the great whore, was mounting the red beast.

 

 

The Scripture portrays revolutionary conquest of king Abaddon and locust's army as the positive work, however, the co-operation of the communist party and the Rome-Catholic church denounce as the today's Babylon, or city (Rev. 11:13) – the last devilish fortress facing the triumphant Christ power. The Lord God let to red Antichrist to exist only for forty two months, that is three and a half of year (Rev. 13:5).

Nothing and nobody could to stop the wheels of the history gaining momentum more and more. Revolutionary ideology of the Bolshevik party (the king Abaddon) was grafted in the masses. In years 1980/1981 the Polish workers angrily brought about the fall of socialistic-clerical powers in Poland (the fall of a tenth of the city; Rev. 11:13). It was the beginning of the process of overthrowing, which the king Nebuchadnezzar saw at his dream as the breaking to pieces of the iron-clay' feet of the statue.
 

 

 

The fall of the communist rules, which tried to keep power to themselves by the contract with the clergy, it reached the very centre soon, Kremlin. On 11 March 1985, Mikhail Gorbachev was elected General Secretary and he initiated his new famous policy of perestroika. Prophecy of "Biblical chronology" foretold the fall of present-day Babylon in the years 1980-1984. The events showed that at this time took place "the breaking of the feet of the statue", the event which broke an equilibrium of old world. All the powers began to stagger and to fall from 1984, because the new invisible Ruler, Jesus Christ, crushes them "with an iron rod".

 

Two important prophecy of the book "Bible Chronology" are worth to comment:

 

The first prophecy. It is the forecast of appearing in year 1977 "the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (Matt. 24:15).

Christ's continual sacrifice was once offered for the sins of entire world and forever. It is ever-efficacious sacrifice (Hebr. 7:27; 9:28). Meanwhile, clergy put aside this sacrifice and they replaced it by the so-called the Sacrifice of the Mass. The Mass is the false and most disgusting ceremony of the Roman Catholic church. Then, allegedly, our Lord offers himself by the hands of the priest to his Heavenly Father in an unbloody manner of sacrifice, under the appearances of bread and wine.

 

During Last Supper our Lord announced he is the real God's Lamb and then he established the emblems symbolizing his death – broken bread and cup with wine. Besides he recommended to Apostles to celebrate his death from now on 14 Nisan every year (Matt. 26:26-28). Establishment of the Anniversary of the Last Supper and his death replaced the Passover Feast which Jews observed on the same day, 14 Nisan. Commemorating the Lord's death was to be the very simple ceremony: consumption of a bits of unleavened bread and the drinking a wine of cup. Broken bread is the symbol of Jesus' human nature consumed as the sacrifice, whereas the wine in the cup symbolizes his blood poured out for Adam and all his offspring unto remission of sins. Participation in each year of believers in Memorial Supper is manifestation of their faith in the arrangement of God, which says that the life of his Son offered to death is the ransom for sins of the entire world (Matt. 20:28; 1 Tim. 2:3-6).

 

The Roman church threw aside time of Memorial Supper (only 14 Nisan) and the proper meaning of these simple symbols of our Lord's death – unleavened bread and wine. She claimed instead, that the five magical Latin words of consecration (Hoc est autem corpus meum) have the power, by so-called transubstantiation, to change ordinary bread and wine into the actual flesh and blood of Christ. Such alleged bloodless sacrifice is then repeated endlessly. This disgusting falsification has become the inexhaustible source of the earnings of the Catholic church. In the dark ages huge number of innocent people lost their life for rejecting of this error.

 

Such desecration of this once only occurred sacrifice of our Saviour announced prophet Daniel long ago: they "shall take away the continual [burnt-offering], and they shall set up the abomination that maketh desolate" (11:31). This is the continual sacrifice, once and forever offered by our Lord, which was finished on cross of Golgotha. Hideous ceremonial, which replaced sacrifice of our Saviour was called the abomination because of the disastrous influence it has had upon the faith and practice of the Lord's people. Moreover, the final result of its overspreading influence would be the desolation of rejected Christendom. The date of the introduction of this defiling error is not particularly referred to in the prophecy, except that by reason of this fundamental error Papacy became the "Abomination of Desolation," before it was, as such, "set up" in power in A.D. 539.

 

Our Lord quoted Daniel above mentioned prophecy in His sermon about the signs of the final times (Matt. 24:15). The revelation to the world of "the Man of Sin" true character and the unmasking most important from his ceremony, Mass, as the blasphemous falsification, it was one from signs letting to recognize His second presence (He said: "So when you see... "). Indeed. The Bible Students in the USA, which came into being in result of understanding of fact of the second invisible presence of Christ in 1874, they described in the very exhausting way the coming into being, elevation and fall of the Roman Catholic church, biblical Antichrist.

 

The book of Revelation foretold short-lived triumph of papacy briefly before its extermination. Elevation of this system was to be the sign for God's people that they had to "to run away on mountains" that is, that the last members of the true church of Christ will be soon taken from the earth on the "mountain" of Heavenly Kingdom.

 

The book "Bible Chronology" (published in 1974) predicted the appearance of "the abomination of desolation" in modern style in year 1977 (look lesson 109). Events confirmed the prophecy. In autumn 1977, after visit of the Polish secretary of party, Eduard Gierek at Vatican, the Roman Catholic church and her disgusting ceremonial of the Mass became ubiquitous in the Poles life, social and political.

 

The second prophecy relates to the woman sitting on the red beast and her final fate (Rev. 17:3). Events of the year 1977 filled the world with amazement. In the past centuries it the kings of Christianity all the time were committing fornication with the great harlot of Rome (Rev. 17:2). Last, to the charms of the elderly harlot have become susceptible the ten young atheistic kings of the socialist camp. These kings had their spiritual leader, the Bolshevik party, showed in Bible as king Abaddon (Rev. 9:11). Doubtless Divine Providence was in this, that such almost mediaeval Catholicism remained at Poland to the very end. Poland therefore has become the place of meetings of "enamoured partners." The Roman Catholic church has been elevated at Poland like "a great millstone" (Rev. 18:21). In here this political a love affair of Communism with the Roman harlot was very facilitated (Rev. 9:11). She, however, cheated her lovers like Dalilah cheated Samson. She humilitated them extremely, supposing, that they will forget all this. The Revelation describes the illusion of the church in such words (18:7): "I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall in no wise see mourning." But these her last partners, especially the king Abaddon, this are the very dangerous lovers, who will not forget the betrayal surely. They look only for opportunity.

 

The French revolution and next, of October were only the preludes of the Great Tribulation, which already begins to overwhelm the whole civilized world. Over a more than two centuries ago France was the most faithful daughter and the support of the Roman Catholic church. All the society was suffering the shortages of food caused the bad crop and gigantic military expenses at America. The sumptuous life of gentry and clergy was in such situation a real provocation. It was near two third of land in their possession. The misery of the people still was deepening, whereas insensitive on such conditions higher classes played in the best, cultivated the debauchery and wallowed in affluences. In this situation, critical opinions of Wolter, Diderot and other thinkers rained on the susceptible soil and were preparing the explosion. In the street of Paris appeared the mother with her children dying from the hunger. It was the match which set on fire the entire social structure of France. The numerous guillotines were set up, on which there began to fall in masses a heads, king, aristocracy, gentry and clergy. The Catholic church had been massacred and her did not exist by certain time at all.

 

At present Poland has become the real support of the Rome-Catholic church. The beneficiaries of the political transformation have become not many: the very enterprising people, smart guys, but first of all greedy clergy, which all ways aims to increasing his property. Meanwhile the totality of the society make ends meet somehow, but it is entirely helpless in the face of the impending crisis. Now the leftist press and others medium are playing role of Voltaire and Diderot. They are criticising the conditions of capitalistic exploitation but specially they are exposing the iniquities of the Roman Catholic church. The situation develops quickly according to the symbolic scenario of Revelation: "the ten horns (...) and the beast, these shall hate the harlot, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and shall burn her utterly with fire." (17:16). The ten socialistic kings, showed as the horns, if only they could they would pay back long ago to the Catholic church for the betrayal. They must wait however for the ripeness of hatred of the entire Catholic state (beast). In accord to the Bible teaching (2 Tes. 2:8), the light of Christ's presence is killing the Man of Sin from the very dawn of parousia (1874). However, final phase of annihilation of the Roman Catholic church has began from the time of Epiphaneia of this presence (1980/81). The same destruction of Antichrist is pictured at other vision of Revelation (18:21) as the hurling the great millstone into the sea (symbol raging human masses).

Lesson 108

 

"And a great sign was seen in heaven"
Rev. 12

 

The twelfth chapter of the Revelation Book possesses the twofold fulfillment.

First fulfilment had the place during the Gospel Age; in the beginning through the birth of the system of Antichrist (papacy) – verse 6, then through the fight between the false Michael (papacy) and dragon (the power of pagan Rome) – the verses 7-13, and at last through the events of the French Revolution – verses 14-18.

The second fulfilment has the place near the end of the Gospel Age and leads to the End of the High Calling. It relates to the "birth" of the true "man" – that is complete Christ – and the final history of the remainder of God's Church on the earth.

The "birth" this chapter is speaking of is not the transition to the spiritual condition, but the final deciding, who has to receive the prize. The apostle Paweł possessed such conviction just before his death (2 Tim. 4:8).

This is the quotation from the "Zion's Watch Tower" 1915-150:

"It does not mean, either, that the very minute or the very day on which the Christian had fully demonstrated his faithfulness to the Lord he would immediately fall asleep or would be instantly ushered into honor and immortality by the glorious change of the First Resurrection. The Lord might have further purposes of usefulness, etc., in regard to his children before their sacrifice would be completed" (James 1:12). (Look also Volume III, page 212)

Sarah, Abraham’s wife, illustrates the Covenant of Sacrifice, which will end before the uniting of Christ with Church.

This is the quotation from Q169:2:

"At the time when Isaac and Rebecca were united, Sarah was dead, for we read that Isaac took her into Sarah, his mother's tent..."

From considerations conducted so far we know, that, in the parallel, the Sarah's death points out to the year 1977. The uniting of Isaac with Rebecca, however, which occurred in three years after Sarah's death, shows on uniting of Christ with the Church in 1980 (spring 1981).

The Bible numerology, while used to the twelfth chapter of the of the Revelation Book, it confirms already known chronological observations relating to the dates of the future.

Verse 5 substantiates the reasonableness of the using of the prophetic pictures of this chapter to the end of the Gospel Age, because in this verse are quoted several words from 2nd Psalm, which are relating to true Christ. In modern editions of the Greek New Testament, the words quoted from the 2nd Psalm are distinguished by the thick fonts.

This is numerical value of these words:

 

 

The "man" who will be rule from 1984 is the Christ, Head and Body. The final victory which will decide about the prize is showed in Michael victory with his angels, which defeated the Dragon with his angels (verses 7-9).

In the names of the duke of darkness (dragon, snake, devil, Satan) the lesson has been hidden that he will use all the ways with the aim of breaking the will of the called ones. Yet the last assault had to be this on the New Creation of the Church. On how much the Church being yet in the body is already the Royal Priesthood (1 Pet. 2:9), which 1000 years will rule (Rev. 20:6), on so many it is already the "heaven," because it is already heaven's class designed to the assumption of the spiritual reign (Eph. 2:6; Rev. 21:1).

This preparing "heaven" was the aim of special satanic attacks (Eph. 6:11-12; 1 Pet. 5:8-9). Our Lord also came under these attacks, when He, as the New Creation, was tempted at the wilderness (Matt. 4:1-11). The enemy will be thrown down from this "heaven." He will not be able from now on to harm them as the New Creations because of the firm attitude of the chosen and the faithful, and the help of Michael (Jesus Christ) – verses 8-9. This does not mean, that he will not be yet harms them as the humans.

The voice of the great joy from achieved victory is described at the verses 10-12. This final victory, in year 1977, will be the time, when of God and of Christ Kingdom is established over the Church. It was showed in the parallel through the coronation David as the king of Judah tribe (Look Diagram No. 9, page 85).

 

 

Lesson 109

 

 

 

By what the chosen ones will overcome him?

(1) By the blood of the Lamb ... This shows, that the enemy attack was always, and particularly near the End of the High Calling, directed to reveal and magnify the weaknesses, which are covered with the Lamb blood.

(2) By the word of their testimony ... The testimony, which they had, is the Jesus' testimony, that is the "spirit of the prophecy" (Rev. 19:10). This is the prophecy (particularly) of the Revelation Book (1:3; 22:7). The understanding of this Book helped them to bring off the final victory. Satan will fight with this light.

(3) And they loved not their lives unto the death ... The attitude of the faithful in the face of irony and threats will be firm thanks to their complete devotion.

Verse 12 announces the joy of the class "heaven" and contains the forecast of nearing the "woe" for the "earth" and "sea," because devil has the short time on the showing his discontent. Mentioned "woe," this is the "third moans" – the Battle of Armageddon, which will destroy satanic systems, and the mankind will free from his power (1980-1984).

The above consideration proves that the "serpent of old" is not "tied" as yet.

So as the system of Antichrist (man) emerged from among the first churches (woman), in which all believers (not necessarily the chosen and the faithful) were, similarly near the end of the Gospel Age, from the congregations (woman) will be "born" the class of the victorious remainder. This the remainder, together with their Head and the rest of the Church (in heaven), will be make up the "man" (Volume II, page 255).

The forecast of the woman escape for 1260 days (verse 6) or 3,5 years (verse 14), it points out to the change of the conditions of the Church since the autumn 1977 till the spring 1981. During this period will come to pass the events described with a symbols in Rev. 11:3-7.

The picture from Rev. 12 was used first time as the illustration of a events of the historical exaltation of the papacy during Gospel Age and 1260 years of the persecutive power of the apostasy church, which, together with the royal power, persecuted the true church. It began from establishment of "the abomination of desolation" in year 539. It was pictured by the figurative history of Elijah, which for 3,5 years was persecuted by Jezebel and Ahab (James 5:17-18; 1 Kings 17:1; Rev. 2:20). The drought lasting 3,5 years was punishment of God for the idolatry, which came to the peak in days Elijah and which was introduced by royal couple.

In the second use of the picture from Rev. 12, we should expect, that the contemporary fulfillment will be similar to it, which had the place at the Dark Ages. The appearing of the second version of the "abomination of desolation," and "the woman escape" for the period of the 1260 literal days, is apparently before us.

Lesson 111

After the woman, which "will escape," Satan will pour out the rest of his propaganda. This propaganda will miss with the aim, because year 1977 is not the final date of taking from the earth of the Church remnant (verse 15, 16).

The prophetic content of the twelfth chapter of Revelation will be fulfilled to 1977. Points out to this the 18 verse, which makes up the end of this whole chapter. The woman escape for the 3,5 years is only the forecast of a events, which will happen after year 1977.
 

 

 

 

In this way the chapter 12 in the Book of Revelation confirm three basic dates of the future: 1977, 1980 (1981) and 1984.

The reached position of "the sea shore" (year 1977) will be the observation-point to see the farther final, amazing events contained in the farther chapters of Revelation. John class will see the various "beasts" in their final shape. It seems, that the warning of Scripture will be particularly in time then: "If any man [is] for captivity, into captivity he goeth: if any man shall kill with the sword, with the sword must he be killed. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints" (Rev. 13:1-10).

Lesson 112

"And this is life eternal, that they should know thee the only true God, and him whom thou didst send, [even] Jesus Christ" (John 17:3).

"And I made known unto them thy name, and will make it known; that the love [agapee] wherewith thou lovedst me may be in them, and I in them" (John 17:26).

"But now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; and the greatest of these is love [agapee]" (1 Cor. 13:13).

"God is Love [Agapee]" (1 John 4:8).

"And I saw, and behold, the Lamb standing on the mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty and four thousand, having his name, and the name of his Father, written on their foreheads" (Rev. 14:1).

Victorious Church of the Gospel Age (144,000) will have the names written on the forehead: the name of God (The Love – Agapee) and of One, who He sent – Jesus Christ. By have knowing God and his Son, the Church will receive the promised eternal life (Rome 2:7) in the First Resurrection (Hee anastasis hee prwtee; Rev. 20:5).
