PROPPHETS OF CHRISTIANITY EZEKIEL   The seventy-year period of desolation of Jerusalem is also associated with the activity of the prophet Ezekiel. God made him "a watchman unto the house of Israel" (Ezekiel 3:16) and entrusted him with a series of prophecies concerning the fate of the chosen people, both under slavery and in the future restoration process. The Bible Students' prophetic movement, therefore, clearly entered into the role of present-day Ezekiel when, from the dawn of Christ's second presence, it began to proclaim the fulfillment of prophecies concerning Israel according to the flesh.   The prophecying upon dry bones (Ezekiel 37:5)     It is probably no coincidence that the birth of the prophet Ezekiel in 642 B.C. is pointing out in time parallelism to the significant year 1878 (2520 – 642 = 1878).
